Clarion Call - Ringing in the changes for the planet

Clarion Call is inviting churches, cathedrals and places of worship of all faiths to come together at 8:30pm on Saturday March 19th and ring out their bells, marking the start of Earth Hour, and acting as a Clarion Call to the people of Ireland to act against climate change, and to protect the natural world.

Earth Hour is a global initiative of the WWF (World Wildlife Fund) where cities, great landmarks across the planet, and ordinary citizens switch off their lights for 60 minutes ,as a symbol of their commitment to tackling climate change and safeguarding the environment. In Ireland, Clarion Call aims to couple this beautiful visual image of hope, with the striking sound of our church bells ringing out through the darkness, waking people to their responsibilty to protect our beautiful country, and wonderful planet. People of all faiths and none are welcome to participate: if your community has no bells to ring, then please sign up to spread the message of Clarion Call instead, and listen out for the bells that will be calling us all to stand together, and - more importantly - act together for what we all value and share: our world.
